“Ride for Youth Sponsorship Program,” was created in 2005 by Apollo Farms Ltd as a program that welcomes all children to experience the magical world of horses regardless of family income level. Our program provides lessons, special day activities, and horse camps to "at-risk', low income, and fostered youth. Most recently with the help of the Carbon Community Foundation, Apollo Farms Ltd. has established a 501 3c that is excepting donations to help continue this important program. Due to lack of programs for at-risk youth in Carbon Country we feel it is imperative to continue to provide a positive and supportive environment through the help of our equine partners. The 501 3c can accept contributions that are entirely tax deductible from companies, civic organizations, and private donors.
For more information on how to make a donation please email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact our office directly at 1-610-900-4120 to speak with a customer service representative.
All donations are used entirely to fund as many child participants as possible.
The children that are chosen to participate in our program have been selected through our application process or referred to us by our affiliate organizations which include but are not limited to Puerto Rican Action Committee, Big Brother Big Sister, and any other organization who would like to refer underprivileged or "at risk" children. Our activities teach children not only about horses but also about responsibility, confidence, and respect. Not to mention the physical benefits such as motor skill development, balance, and coordination. The children are taught all aspects of horse care from grooming, feeding, and basic riding. They also get the opportunity to observe the farrier as well as the veterinarian. vel.
Many of the students, all coming from families with extreme financial constraints, are considered "at risk". Statistics show us that " Underprivileged" children are more likely to get involved in gang activity, drug abuse, and violence. Ride for Youth Sponsorship Program offers a constructive outlet for their energies while presenting a healthy alternative to negative outcomes of poverty.
Please do not hesitate to contact us to schedule an appointment. If you are a community based organization looking to participate in our program please contact us.
